I received some news from school.
It made me remember that school only allows me to get to the Bar Exam. They will teach me nothing. I have to do it all. Which when you think about it is WONDERFUL.
However...
My grades mean nothing in a bigger sense. As a CPA, I am a professional and I do want to excel but the school has some system that which does not benefit its students. To me that defeats their purpose. My guess; they are making enough money or to much money to re-think what good for the students and do what's right. They don't seem to want a better reputation. Do the math on enrolled 1Ls to final grads and those that took and passed the Bar. I bet that's horrible.
All of our grades come down to ONE test - THE FINALS. Graded by an outsider that has no idea as to our situation or the 1L experience as a whole. On my mid-term, I had it re-graded 3 times with 3 different answers. What do you think that tells you? Arbitrary, capricious, un-fair, non-objective and that's the only good I can say.
EVERY School, Bar Review Program and Bar Exam uses a BELL SHAPE CURVE of some type to determine the final grade. No student(s) when tested as either a CPA or as a Lawyer make 100%. Many tests have more points than the 100%. So, we are really, really getting cheated when it comes to the final and therefore our Grades here and compared to any other well run school. Every school provides an expectation of the final thru it's professors, prior exams and students (which the school forbids).
How do they get accredited. As a CPA I have done audits of non-trasditional schools (PRIVATE SCHOOLS) and to get Accrediteds they pay money and send in some forms. It means nothing. That's why the ABA schools are important for many reasons.
Taft should at least do a review of the grade mid-term and final to provide that final adjustment to factor in all of the other intangibles and tangibles.
Is this like the children story of the emperor with new clothes? You know everyone saw the King naked but were to afraid to speak the truth till a little boy spoke the truth.
We should never be afraid to speak the truth to power! We deserve it/earned it. And in some small way, the power need it to.
So I guess some of this rationale is to calm me down and realize as we said in the Navy during the 1973 to 1975 years
It Don't Nothing.
Don't be discouraged. As my Savior the Lord Jesus Christ said thru disciples
BE OF GOOD CHEER I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD.
When I got back from the Navy I had a few people try to sabotage my life. The worst was BROYLES. If he is doing this now or any one else is, as the Gladiator said and I paraphrase,
I WILL UNLEASH HOLY HELL UPON.........
I am a Christian but as we are to do good deeds on earth as Gods Hands; We are to smite with the same HANDS those that hurt, oppress or deny God's People what they earned. It mean that but take it in the wrong way the innocent have nothing to fear and the guilty better not make a mistake I catch them in.
Wow..that's better.....for you and me I hope
